3 lemons, sliced and seeded
100 g (1/2 cup) caster sugar
A few ice cubes (optional)
In a blender
1 Place the lemon slices, sugar and 570 mL (2 1/3 cups) boiling water in a blender and blend until smooth. Add the same amount of water and strain into a pitcher. Drink the lemonade hot or let it cool and add ice cubes just before serving.
Without blender
2 Put the lemon slices, sugar and 1.1 liters (4 1/2 cups) of boiling water in a pitcher. Stir until the sugar is dissolved, pressing the lemon slices against the sides of the pitcher to extract as much flavour as possible. Strain into a pitcher. Drink the lemonade warm or cool and add ice cubes just before serving.
